All around big boy

This week Avett became such a big boy...although half of it was forced upon him; he has responded really well.

The first step is potty training. As frustrating as this process is, the kid looks fricken adorable in all of his big boy undies (Cars and Puppy Patrol).

Along with potty training, I've been trying to push fluids and Avett is more enthusiastic when he gets to drink from a big cup. He's actually doing fantastic with it! He does occasionally like to open his mouth and let the water dribble out. Beyond his purposefully being silly, he has it coordinated very well.

His big boy bed. He enjoys it and his room! His first time sleeping in it was for nap time yesterday and there were no issues. At 930 when I went to wake Aaron up for work, the kid was teetering on the edge. Aaron bravely went in and pushed Avett to the center without waking him. Around 130 when I went up to bed, I couldn't see Avett on the monitor at all. I hadn't heard a thump or anything, but I was slightly paranoid. So seeing as to how Aaron so easily pulled off moving the boy, I thought I'd open the door to check on him, and that woke him up and left him screaming for 5 minutes!
Then around 430 I heard a thump. I held my breath and waited for a howl, but heard only a short little whimper and then a bunch of scurrying as the babe tried to blindly find his way back to his bed. He's too short to climb up on his own, so he uses a step stool at the foot of the bed. I watched as I saw his little head come bopping up into the screen. Then he made a mad dash to his pillow and blanket and was out for the next three hours.
I especially love his new bed because he prefers to cuddle and read books in it. We were getting to a point where I was uncomfortable sitting in his glider with him and he was more interested in playing in his crib than reading... But now we have the best of both worlds. Plenty of room for him to play and snuggle while I read or sing him lullabies. Our precious moments. <3

Drumming on the wall
Directionally challenged
Just about right this time
Barely there
At least he's on the bed
