Haddie had her one month appointment today. Everything looks good and the girl is getting chunky, just like I suspected! She only has to gain an ounce a day; our last appt was 19 days ago and since then she has gained almost 27 ounces!! She is up to 10# 9.5 ounces (if I'm remembering accurately) and is now 23" long! She had her second shot for her Hep B vaccine and with a little snuggling from Daddy, she did okay (and slept a lot). (Avett also got his flu shot and the kid did AMAZING! He's honestly pretty wimpy and makes you kiss any boo-boo, even if it's just something very light and little, and for this shot, his eyes welled up and he kind of sniffled at first, but never cried. I distracted him with books. He kept looking at his leg, asking to get his sticker off.)
She is feeding about 10 times a day. From roughly 630PM to midnight she eats every 3 hours, and then will have a five hour resting period and then eat again around 930AM and from there on out its about every 1 1/2 hours. Nursing has been going better these past couple of days and her poops have been primarily yellow!!!! (Meaning my boobs have gotten their act together and she is getting a balanced nutrient diet -- I'm so relieved!)
She is smiling more and was really responding to my voice starting a couple of days ago. She's alert and looks around a lot.
We have to spend more time doing tummy time and have her sleeping flat instead of in her Rock 'n Play cradle to help with keeping her head round.
