Avett is so chatty. He strings together long sentences. After having recent visitors, it's clear to me that I understand more of what he's saying than others pick up on, but regardless his language skills are advanced for his age. He is a sponge. The "what's dat?" And "what's dis?" Still continue on a record breaking level. He can count 1-10 and up to twelve with some prompts.
He loves his puppy and chases him all around. Harken is over his antagonizing antics but continues to deal with them.
Avett still enjoys hiding. He's getting better at actually hiding behind chairs or objects, etc. but will still pull the blanket over his head while standing in the middle of the room.
He is more interested in his planes than his cars at this point. But daddy also got him a couple of plastic animals to play with and he enjoys that. He loves the zoo! We have gone quite a bit this year. (We got to feed a giraffe on our last trip which was awesome!!)
He loves the cottage as well! He takes some warming up initially, but has gotten braver about going in the water. He plays really well with his second cousins out there. He does well with sharing and taking turns; however, sometimes to a fault where he tends to get walked on from time to time.
He is warming up to his sister and loves having everyone back at home. He helps get her diapers and wipes, pats her back when she needs to be burped, and asks to hold her a couple times a day. He has no animosity towards her but has regressed a little with potty training. Our first couple days home, he had several accidents, mostly number twos. I can't say it was all his fault; it's highly likely that we weren't getting him on the toilet as often as he needed. He's a little whinier and doing more things just for attention, but overall we're all transitioning better than I pictured.
