14, 15

Here we go. Two months of updates in a couple of posts.

Because I'm so delayed, it's hard to distinguish 14 month milestones from 15 month milestones. Here's what I can distinctly recall:

14 months: started to HATE baths, again!  Tried out swimming at the lake but he takes some warming up to it. 6 teeth. Liked macaroni, Cheerios, honey nut Cheerios, oatmeal, yogurt, graham crackers. Loves to play and lay with Harken. He's walking all over! And starting to get quick at it, not yet a run though. Says mommom and dada. LOVES cars...LOVE LOVE LOVES cars!!! Does "how big are you?"..."so big!" Does this weird little nose scrunch exhale meaning "woof woof" for his doggy. Kisses our magnet of Millie on the fridge.

15 months: still hates baths. says "ca" (car) and "uck" (which works well for both truck and duck) and "cock cock" (quack quack). Runs all over the place! Tries to go up the stairs like a big person, no more crawling on the knees... Feet first. But has to hold Mommas hand. And he's horrible at going down stairs! Likes to stand and walk on his tippy toes. He's working on feeding himself with a fork. Tried hot dogs for the first time; didn't hate them. Tried fruit snacks; he's a fan. Has 6 teeth, a 7th popped through, and an 8th on his way. He has I think four freckles now! Loves his lawn mower! Is obsessed with the Cars movie... Whoops. Crawls and pushes his cars around the room. Does some pretty silly side eyes. Uses his vacuum more often. Climbs up on to the couch with a little help for stability. I've caught this guy trying to get his leg over the crib rail... Not happening kiddo! Likes the lake now. Recognizes Millie in many different pictures around the home, as well as many other family members and points to them when I say their names. He can find his ears. We are working hard on finding his nose and blowing kisses. Stay tuned to the 16 months update to see if we have mastered these skills.

At his 15th month appointment, Avett was in the 15th percentile for height, and 15th percentile for weight... New favorite number! He is 30 1/4" short and 20# 1oz light. He got two vaccines and handled them like a major champ! He had a rash for several weeks, which his doctor confirmed to be eczema.

Our little man is currently working his way through a pretty rough cold, and possibly more teeth. I've never wanted to claw my ear drums out like I have this week. It feels like we have been living with non-stop crying for the past four days. I'm hoping he starts feeling better very soon.
