23 months

It's hard to believe that my baby is just one month away from being a two year old! As the saying goes, time has flown by. The more he learns and grows on a daily basis, the faster the time seems to pass!
The biggest change seems to be in his language. Being a speech pathologist, years of schooling taught me that this is when his language would "boom", but the voracity of it has still taken me by complete surprise. All of this language that he's been soaking up, are finally making connections to the expressive side of things and he is saying words and sentences I didn't even know he knew! I can't believe how well he is putting everything together! It makes me so proud of him. It reassures me that all of my "language parenting" has been worth while. It also makes me realize I have to really cut back my swearing.
Physically, he is finally independent at going down the stairs; however, he still waits for mom and dad to be near by. He hast quite figured out how to be a dare devil and rule breaker, thankfully.
He is behaving better at bathtime (maybe it's the new tub!) and generally only cried when he's forced out of the tub.

He is becoming more and more brave at the park. What started one day as him being coached through climbing the stairs, crawling through tunnels, and riding down the toddler sized slides, evolved quickly into him going down two story slides all by himself! It has literally caused my heart to stop beating to see how high this little guy was up! He loves the park!

The baby LOVES reading. It's the best way to distract him while I change his diaper. I have stopped using the table because I think he finds it uncomfortable or restraining given how he's grown. We take a trip to the library every 3 weeks to replenish our stock. The boy loves reading about trucks, trains and buses! And loves bedtime stories.

He is learning to sing along to "wheels on the bus" and to read along to "the pout pout fish".
Avett is fairly good at feeding himself in regards to the little amount of mess that he makes. He hates having anything on his hands so this motivates him to use his fork and spoon well. He also uses a napkin most of the time which helps keep for clean clothes.

Likewise, he is obsessed with picking fuzzier out of his toes.

To no ones surprise, he still loves cars and his love is expanding to airplanes as well. He will spend hours playing with his models by himself. It makes for packing a diaper bag really easy and light!
