20 months

Avy turned 20 months old just after Christmas. Man, I tell you what, the way our house has filled up from Christmas makes me worried for his birthday in four months! Spoiled, loved, loved baby!!!

Avys big items from Christmas were a grocery cart from mom and dad, a rocking horse from G&G Bollwahn, a renewal for his zoo pass from G&G Wiedmeyer, a huge race track that both his aunties happened to get him, a farm with tons of animals from Auntie Mooey, and Avetts favorite were the goldfish crackers he got from Uncle Brandon and Katie.

By 20 months, Avett has learned new words and animal sounds. He makes an elephant noise and snake noise (he just learned that a horse says neigh). Although all are imprecise, his entire vocabulary is "no, no, no", "go, go go", "stay" (all the things I yell at Harken), "water", "na-na", "pa-pa", "mom-mom", "dad", "more" (which he also signs -- and just learned how to sign please), "ball", "car", "truck", "this", "don't", "stuck" and "yuck", "bye-bye"... And he's working on saying "mater" and "giraffe".
He loves to run all over the place, especially in his crib or across the room until he can throw himself on a couch or chair. Likes climbing on and off furniture - starting to enjoy getting on and off mom's bed and jumping all over it. Has mastered the stairs going up and has way more control going down. He has gotten better with baths and eating again, though we still struggle with both sometimes. Since Christmas, we have kicked the high-chair to the curb and he is sitting in a booster seat and really working on feeding himself with utensils.
He is beginning to do pretend play with his farm animals and fake food. His fake eating skills are adorable -- and he's way less of a picky eater when it comes to the plastic stuff!
