Avett was born on the 29th of April. That means he would be 10 months old on the 29th of February, but since that doesn't exist this year, he has a phantom 10 months.
Favorites: Since we came back from Georgia, where Avett got to get tons of kisses from his dog-cousin, Coalie, he has been dragging his toy puppy around the house by it's little shoe-string leash. But he also really likes his little wooden mallet that is supposed to be used with his xylophone. Instead, he just carries it around with him and knocks on whatever he pleases -- though he is figuring out how to play the xylophone. He enjoys standing at the front window and keeping watch on the neighborhood for 10-minute spans. And while he's at the window, he likes to kiss and talk to his reflection and rub his fingers through the sloppy mess he left on the glass. His favorite book is The Pout Pout Fish and Smile, Mr. Pout Pout. His food intake and likes have greatly expanded, but he really LOVES bananas and oatmeal. In general, he likes fruits: raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and clementines. Also likes guacamole and tomatoes; cheerios; and thin mints ;-)
Dislikes: being forced to sit still to get his diaper changed or clothes changed; when people that he is hanging out with step away (that's right this has expanded from just his momma).
Development: he's a little snuggle bug these days; crawling -- the real deal; open-mouthed kisses; dancing -- head bobbing and shoulders writing; he started shaking his head a while ago, but now he will copy you and do it; smiles for the camera; waving -- kinda; walking behind toys; bath time IN THE BATHTUB! more babbling; two teeth and a third ready to pop through
