Daddy's Day

Avett and I would like to wish his Daddy the happiest first Father's Day! We very much appreciate his patience; his willingness to sacrifice sleep on an already messed up schedule so that I can go to appointments, run errands or get a break; his humor as he sings goofy songs; his hard work to help provide for us; and then to come home and do yard work, garden or cook; his willingness to always change the dirtiest of diapers; his inability to resist wandering to the baby dept of Target and spoiling him with cute outfits; his hum-whistle; rubbing Avett's ticklish feet; massaging his tummy when it's upset; for actively being there the entire time during labor and delivery; for crying tears of joy when he first saw his son; for recognizing and appreciating the sacrifices I went through during my pregnancy and delivery; for letting me give our baby a namesake after my dad instead of after his family; for being a rock during challenging doctor's appointments; for always volunteering to lug that heavy car seat all over the place; for proposing to me so that we could officially be the Bollwahn family; for all of the little things you do that we don't always thank you for; for naturally filling the daddy role with ease.

I hope I covered all of the reasons that we love you! And I hope you know how deep that love goes! You're a one of a kind friend, life partner and daddy!

And Happy Father's Day to our dads. You are excellent role models and taught us everything we need to know to be good parents! Thanks always for your  constant support! We love you both unconditionally!

  1. Ahhhh so very sweet. Fatherhood really fits him naturally (as does motherhood for you).
