One Month New

Happy one month birthday to our baby boy! I know it's cliche to say, but these first four weeks have flown by. Aaron and I have learned A TON and it's safe to say we are not the same people we were a month ago. I think we'd both agree that this parenting task came to us more naturally than we expected, though we still had (and have) our trying and overwhelming moments. Not only have we changed, but Avett has changed in so many ways!

We have always thought of Avett as being a very alert baby and he continues to be more alert on a daily basis which means less sleep and more exploring, searching and learning. He knows his mom and dad's voices and smells. He has pretty darn good head control and strong legs for his age. He usually enjoys tummy time. Avett can focus on faces and is starting to track objects and is beginning to coo and to intentionally smile! He has a whole new and growing list of interests.

He LOVES:

To be outside

Snuggling

To be in his carrier (see the above)

Going for walks in his stroller

Car rides

Shopping at Target and Buy Buy Baby :)

Being bounced up and down

...movement in general and lots of it

Being carried over your shoulder or face-down on his dad's arm

The sound of the "ocean"

Sleeping on your chest

His hands. He's always fidgiting with them, grabbing his face, sucking on them, looking at them.

When his mom sings "Hush Little Baby" and his dad sings "I Would Walk 500 Miles"

We love: EVERYTHING about our little guy!
